NGH Wild Environmental has launched a Brisbane office in May, expanding the firm’s geographic reach beyond its north Queensland roots.
This core new hire marks a turning point for the firm, aimed at strengthening its Queensland wide offering, as former AECOM Principal Environmental Consultant, Mark Barnett joins the company as the Regional Manager of South East Queensland.
Mark joins the team both as a manager and as the technical lead for environmental impact assessments, a role that Mark has extensive experience in fulfilling.
Mr Barnett formally joins the lead environmental service provider and will work alongside Mr Adam Folkers, who recently joined in the role of Regional Manager North Queensland to grow the business.
“Mark has a track record of delivering large, complex environmental impact statements, most recently demonstrated during his management of the Inland Rail Border to Gowrie Project Draft EIS” Managing Director Nick Baker said. From late 2011 to early 2014 Mark successfully led AECOM’s Environment Business Line presence in the Cairns and Far North Queensland region.
“Mark’s consulting background and technical leadership credentials will ensure he is well equipped to establish a strong presence for Wild in the South East,” Mr Baker said.
“The opening of the Brisbane office coincides with a brand refresh for the company, which is aimed at redefining our brand identity and language to accurately reflect the growing business, Managing Director Nick Baker said.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the growth and expansion of the company into a new market”, Mr Barnett said.
Mr Barnett, who has a Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham (UK), will join the team after 14 years at AECOM.
The addition of Mark to the team along with Adam Folkers in March will boost the firm’s ability to offer end-to-end support on major infrastructure projects.
